Debbie is the University Librarian at Capilano University, located in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Previously, she was the Director, Learning Resources and Records Management at Douglas College in New Westminster, British Columbia, from 2011 to 2017. In that role, Debbie was responsible for the Library, Learning Centre, Records Management, and was also the Privacy Officer for the College. Prior to joining Douglas College, Debbie was a member of the Senior Management Team at Vancouver Public Library, where she held the position of Director, Technology & Collection Management. Debbie has been an OCLC Global Council delegate since 2011, and a member of the ARC executive committee, since 2016.
Debbie holds a BA in History and English and a Master of Library Science from the University of British Columbia, along with a Master of Business Administration in the Management of Technology from Simon Fraser University. Debbie is currently conducting research into critical information literacy as a candidate for Doctor of Education with the University of Edinburgh.
